Career Mentor Program

Young adults who face an opportunity gap but have a mentor are 55% more likely to be enrolled in college than those who did not have a mentor.

Care Fresno's career mentoring program is designed to help close the socioeconomic gap by providing teenagers with career mentors. Mentors meet with a teen 1 time a month for 1 hour a month for a year.   Each month, mentors will meet with a different teen. The program will help teens:

1. Broaden Their View of Career Opportunities

2. Improve Their Social Network

3. Inspire Them to Pursue Higher Paying Jobs

Youth learn and respond from the environment around them.  It is very likely for youth growing up in underserved neighborhoods to have never been exposed to many of the potential careers out there. Through this program, they will be exposed to many different career opportunities and will be inspired to pursue higher paying jobs to have a happier, healthier life and more hope of a future.

As a mentor, you will have the chance to meet with a variety of teens from our teen leadership program to teach them about your career, give them some tips and tricks that you've learned along the way, inspire them to invest in a future, and instill hope in them.  This helps to close the gap.
