An update:
March 17, 2020
After careful consideration…reviewing email responses received this past week, & discussing with several doctors, Care Fresno proposes the following response to Covid-19 (Coronavirus): Care Fresno exists to serve our community…and have been doing so for 25-years, The Coronavirus concerns are real and not to be taken lightly…Our program serves youth ages 6-12 and 13-18 in group sizes well below the threshold outlined by the Governor of California; we resolve to continue serving based on fact, not fear. Until further notice, we commit to continued service in areas of literacy, mentoring, and leadership development at The Courtyard, Summerset Village/FIRM, and Kings Palace. (Cedar & Sequoia Courts have temporarily halted after-school program) Parents may encourage their children to register for After-School Program, Care Camp, and other offered activities. Please only encourage your student to attend only if you are comfortable and they, and your household are healthy. If you have extra hand sanitizer we would appreciate your sharing with us. We encourage staff & student to regularly wash their hands and do their best to use the “Dracula cough/sneeze”. We also encourage maintaining reasonable and appropriate distance and, as much as possible, avoid direct contact with the kids and each other. We look forward to continuing serving our community and ask that you direct any questions to the Care Fresno office, (559) 473-4746, email: info@carefresno.org. Because we care, Randy Mewhirter (Executive Director) and team Care Fresno |
