STRATEGIC PLAN
TARGET A COMMUNITY OF NEED FOR ADOPTION
In partnership with the Fresno Police Department, Care Fresno locates Fresno highest-crime apartment complexes. Historically, apartment complexes represent areas that have the highest rates of crime and the most concentrated amounts of poverty. In addition, studies have shown that in major metropolitan areas, only 5% of apartment residents are church attenders (vs. 40% of home owners).
CITY EXPOSURE TOUR
Care Fresno will offer city tours to partner church congregations. These tours will help people see parts of the city that they may never be exposed to. They will learn about some of the great needs within our city and local communities, meet local missionaries and hear their stories, and see the need first hand!
URBAN MISSIONS CLASSES
These classes are purposed to raise up community-minded leaders from within the congregation. This class/small group usually lasts between 7-10 weeks. During this time, congregants will receive an in-depth, scriptural look at God’s heart for the poor and its practical implementation in the community. Each session will be led by leaders in urban ministry.
ASSET-BASED SERVICE
We believe that God has given every single person, man and woman, rich and poor, gifts and assets that are to be used toward the Kingdom of God.
COMMUNITY IMPACT TEAM (COMMIT)
Through the urban missions classes, missional lay leaders are discovered and will then be asked to join a Community Impact Team. This is a small group of people who meet once per month and are passionate about nurturing a culture within the partner church that is outward-focused and is driven to bring the light and love of Christ to those in physical and spiritual poverty who are living all around us.
The mission of the Community Impact Team is to build a collaboration of people devoted to using personal networks to mobilize volunteers and resources from the church and beyond toward their local mission field.

MISSIONARIES IDENTIFIED, TRAINED & PLACED
Missionaries will join others from across the city in creating a local missions focus. They will study and learn together while building fellowship among our team of missionaries.
NEIGHBORHOOD MINISTRIES & ASSOCIATIONAL SMALL GROUPS
Care Fresno has standard programming that can be adapted to each church and neighborhood partner.
However, one of the most efficient ministry models that has the most impact is small groups. By providing site-based small groups (inside the adopted community) relational bridges are formed and natural discipleship and transformation take palace.
