Our history:
In 1995, Care Fresno was started by the Fresno Police Department in collaboration with church and faith-based leaders to provide a resources for families in the Fresno area. The goals has always been to address crime and poverty at it root in neighborhoods that have historically been under-resourced. Over the years, through community partnerships we have been able to serve over 15,000 youths and their families living in over 60 neighborhoods.
Our goal remains the same, to provide a healthy and safe environment for students to come after school grab a healthy snack, get academic support, build relationships with both God and role models who volunteer their time, and hang out with peers. Our number one goal is to put the children in these neighborhoods first and support them by providing this type of environment as well as resources their families can use as well. We are dedicated to making a change and it starts with prioritizing the kids in our organization.

Our process:
Through our neighborhood programs we meet with the youth in the areas we serve. We begin mentorship by partnering them with volunteers who are dedicated in providing healthy and safe relationships with their mentees. Mentoring relationships build emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being so the youth can hopefully become leaders within their community. It ensures that the youth are shown what it is like to be a leader and positively impact the community they are apart of.
