Who is Care Fresno?

Care Fresno is a non-profit Christian organization focused on providing resources to under-resourced communities in Fresno. Originally the Fresno Police Department and faith-based leaders came together to form this organization in order to decrease crime in Fresno County in 1995.

Today that message still remains true as we are still focusing our efforts on providing safe and healthy spaces for children in historically under-resourced communities. We do this by providing an After-School Program in 7 different neighborhoods throughout Fresno. Our intention and goal is to provide a safe and positive space for kids to come and hang out with their peers and friends in the neighborhood, have a healthy snack, get academic support, learn about the word of God, and build long-lasting and positive relationships with role models who work and volunteer with the organization. These role models are those who are site leads who live in the community full time, college and high school student volunteers who want to contribute to the betterment of the community, and other volunteers from multiple age ranges who just want to give back. Through the after-school program, we hope to leave a positive impact on the students who join so that in return they too become positive role models in the future.
